EU farm ministers meeting in Brussels nearest Monday will ponder whether they should change the name of the EU agriculture and fisheries Council through adding 'food' to the title, thus expanding their sufficiency and encroaching on the territory of the health and environment Councils.

Already EU health Commissioner David Byrne attends chiefly Farm Council meetings to deal with public health issues, which hold much of the Council's time. The name change would acknowledge the responsibility of farm ministers for cheer and feed safety.
