The serious potato disease ring putrefaction which is caused by the bacterium Clavibacter michiganensis sepedonicus, has been establish in the UK for the first time. The disease was confirmed by the agency of the UK's Central Science Laboratory in a sample of potatoes produc from Dutch se potatoes at a farm near Brecon in mid-Wales.
